Featured VA – Nancy Benn of Direct PA Services, Nottinghamshire, UK

At the beginning of 2010 Nancy Benn launched Direct PA Services after being made redundant.  Having worked for a social enterprise she realised that leaders of third sector organisations often don’t have the secure funds needed to permanently employ admin and PA support making virtual assistance a cost effective way to help with running a business.

Over the years Nancy was an employed PA she began to notice how rarely she saw her boss as more and more communication and correspondence was done via email, phone and text.  However, as long as the work was done, the CEO was satisfied.  Taking this initiative, strong organisational skills and board level PA experience Nancy and Direct PA Services now provide virtual, flexible and professional support to chief executives, business owners and consultants.

Nancy’s experience began when she worked for high street banks before taking her customer service skills to run the reception area of a large printing company.  Her keen organisational abilities were quickly recognised by the Manufacturing Director and she soon became PA to all company directors.  Following takeover and redundancy, Nancy worked in social services for her local authority before being head-hunted by the CEO of an award winning and innovative social enterprise.

Now Nancy and Direct PA Services have regular clients and a growing network.  Hiring a Virtual Assistant is a cost effective way to add value to any business and Direct PA Services work closely with clients to help them take their focus away from tasks not core to their business activity.  This then frees up clients’ precious time to work in and not on their business.
